An empty keg used in the recipe can be used to craft a potion keg causing anything inside the empty keg to be lost. Is it maybe possible to have it check if empty before using as an ingredient?

The whole potion system needs to be looked at.  This is relevant, but it is part of a larger pre-AOS issue.

I have never tried to use a potion keg with anything inside of it. I have also never failed on making a potion.
Or I should say, I have never failed and lost the keg since you dont make the potion in the keg, you make the potion in a bottle then pour the bottle into the keg. I am not sure how to recreate this issue to test.
It is an issue with wine making. If you fail you lose the entire keg.
