Character Description
Though Rayyan's "true" form is invisible to the human eye, they have long since taken a particular favoritism to a human glamour, one that is tall and slender regardless of which gender they choose to be at the time. Born amongst a nationality of darker skin tones, their human self reflects this with warm skin that has a penchant for darkening easily when exposed to sun for long hours. There are no scars or blemishes noticeable, though they do favor a long, trailing vine like tattoo that begins at the base of their throat and ends at their navel. Their hair is kept long and often in braids, and they favor bright colors - often staining their hair all sorts of gem-like hues when they can. Their ears are slightly tipped, teeth slightly sharp, and eye irises a curious shade of gold, all that mark them Muiri by the observant eye.
Shard Plot Line
Rayyan has manifested under the servitude of Sahure and the Qubilat al-Asad, bringing with them a wide knowledge of military skill.
Special Role-play Ability
Jinn do not grant wishes, and Rayyan has never accepted this twisted lore - but they DO possess the ability of knowing desire. When Rayyan bothers, they can glean the desires of those around them - ranging from what that person wants to eat for lunch, to what that person wants absolutely above all else in life. It is knowledge alone - they cannot exact the desire, unless it is in their natural ability.
Previous World
Earth, particularly during the pre-Islamic era.
Backstory
They were once heralded as Gods, equals to Hubal and al-Lat. They were beloved, worshipped… feared. Then religion failed them, and they became smoke - quite literally, for some of them. Monotheism scoured the land, and one of the greatest extinctions mankind would never know of took place as Jinn and Spirit, Ifrit and Daemon alike fell into nothingness. Rayyan was one of a million casualties, simply… ceasing to exist in the mortal realm.
They were dropped into an abyss of nothing. There was no paradise, no nirvana, no heaven as they had once been promised. Darkness, endless suffocating darkness that extinguished their flame and left them with nothing but memory and desire to be again. How long they sat suspended in this darkness, they had no idea. Until it became too much, and in a sudden aching need, they reached out. They sought for a tether, a thread of anything to pull them out of the darkness.
And their own desire was heard. From one breath to the next, the darkness melted away and all they remembered for a moment was an emperor scorpion crawling across their chest. It did not speak, only stilled and then plunged its stinger deep into their chest. When they inhaled in pain, everything twisted like a bad dream. And then they were… here.
