Character Description - An unsettling and savage creature of origins impossible to place. This nightmarish beast stands at an intimidating height, even while usually hunched over. When standing tall, it towers over man, orc, and elf alike. The name SkekVaal strikes fear into even those of its own kind with their imposing presence and often violent tendencies. With a rotting vulture-like visage housed in metal and bone, yellow pointed nails tipping elongated fingers, and a body that appears to be festering and on the verge of decay, this beast is a spectacular horror.
Shard Plot Line - Nothing is more important to SkekVaal than ensuring that someone, anyone, is beneath their heel. Desperation and fear fill the vile creature as they are abundantly aware of their insignificant place in the face of the endless multiverse. Immediately, they shall seek a position of power: Any position of power at first. Ambition will force them to climb and expand, no matter the cost.
Special Role-play Ability - Skeksis have a spiritual link to their urRu (Mystic) counterparts. Should SkekVaal's counterpart arrive in sanctuary, they shall be linked. Being linked means they may draw strength from one another, see what the other sees, but also suffer the same pain and injuries, including death. (This ability is likely to never be used unless another player would like to play SkekVaal's urRu counterpart.)
Previous World - Thra
Backstory - Destiny calls to us all, but only the strong of will do what it takes to reach out and grasp it. Some of us much reach further than others to grasp it. The Skeksis traveled far to find Thra; a world ripe for exploitation and subjugation. However, when they arrived, that was not their goal. They were after the crystal of truth, planning to use it to purify themselves. This did not go as planned, and through the second great conjunction, due to the impurities in their beings, the Skeksis were created.
Of these Skeksis was SkekVaal. History chose to omit this savage Skeksis from history as no other punishment could ever cut them as deep as this. Known as Subjugator, SkekVall attempted to lead a campaign of oppressive colonization over all of Thra through force and show of power. The other Skeksis, however, preferred a more passive approach to ruling the creatures of Thra through trickery and false benevolence. SkekVaal threatened this plan, wanting no part in the farce. If the inhabitants of Thra were to be ruled properly, the only true way was through force and strength of will!
For their blind ambition, the Emperor cast SkekVaal into the light of the Crystal of Truth to be disposed of, removing all records and memories of the Subjugator's existence. While Thra was rid of the Subjugator, they survived. Instead of being destroyed, as the Skeksis had intended, SkekVaal was sent somewhere where war, conquest, subjugation were not so stifled, but embraced: Sanctuary.
