Kythaera Argente

Character Race & Sub-Race
Muiri - Winged Dragon; Silver

Alternate Graphic
Dragon; White/Silver Hue

Character Description
When glamoured, Kythaera is a delicately built woman with a stature of about 5'6", a fragility to her that is almost alarming. As most Muiri are prone to, her features are angular and slim though she has a jaw that is a touch square compared to the rest of her. Kyth's skin is pristine though she sits somewhere between tan and fair -- "warm" would be an apt descriptor, with freckles found sparsely here and there all over her body. Though she appears almost entirely human at a glance, her eyes are her betrayer. They are a whisky-colored amber with serpentine slit pupils, and at night they possess a noticeable eyeshine.

Her draconic form is petite for a dragon, a certain cat-like grace to her build. She is a snowy white beast with an iridescent sheen when the sun hits just so, and her scales are smooth -- more akin to a fish's scale layout than that of a reptile's. Her wings are almost translucent between the joints and have since been rendered too delicate to properly carry her weight though they allow for long gliding. Kyth's head is wedge-shaped with small spines and amber-gold eyes -- the only actual color on her beyond shades of white and grey.

Shard Plot Line
She was called to this realm by Io, though she does not know the God by such a name. Proven capable in her home world as both a wielder of magic and fire, as well as a bearer, she has great potential to bring forth a rise of power for Dragonkind not only in this world, but a return to the others. She is a life-bringer, and a protector both -- traits necessary to further protect the futures of dragonkind across the realms.

Special Role-play Ability
Telepathy. This ability is extremely limited in this realm, though perhaps in her past it had not been. Kythaera is capable of creating mental links specifically with other Dragonkin, though the more autonomous and intelligent the Dragonkin are, the easier it is for her to be blocked out -- she cannot communicate or create links with those unwilling. Once a link has been created, only intentional thoughts to or from her can be understood; it is not mind-reading and she has no access to memory or any aspect of the other's mental state beyond what they wish to share with her. ( if this is acceptable, my ooc intents are to utilize party chat for an ic reason, so that all "thoughts" shared are private for the characters BUT documented in shard log for safety/accountability! )

Backstory
They had said the snows of the northern mountains were safe. They had lied. It began with a cry of human voices, and the thunder of equine hooves. She had tried, desperately, to conceal herself and the precious clutch beneath her when they'd circled around the rocky outcrop, but it had done nothing -- the hunters were skilled, and they knew how to tell when dragonkin were about. Of course they did, as they had methodically cut down each and every one of her kin until she knew no others alive. Only the fragile lives beneath her, not yet even broken of shell, were all she had left. When the hunters came, she fought as best she could from where she held curled around the clutch. Yet in the end, torn and bloodied, spent of her fire, she was forced from the nest -- a cold brutality, as she fled in an attempt to save her own life as behind her, the scent of blood and death and yolk rent the air.

Her wings failed her not a league further, sending her crashing into thickets that tangled and tore at tender membrane. Fouled up and incapable of going further, the dragoness reached for something she'd not done since she was a hatchling. She prayed, reached for the Gods themselves in hope of finding some mercy that would spare her. Nothing came to her, not until she called for the one she most feared calling for. Asgorath, she begged, and presence surrounded her. Broken child, was all she heard before peace of what felt like sleep, or perhaps it was death, came over her.

She awoke in another land entirely, healed of her wounds though weakened in far greater ways. It felt like surfacing from a deep and drugged sleep, a dizziness and disorientation refusing to leave her for some time. When at last she found her footing, she realized that she knew nothing of the land she stood in. Yet that same presence was there at her back. Begin again, she was told, and then she was left, lost in a world not her own.
