Character Name -
Scyllis
Character Race & Sub-Race-
Human
Alternate Graphic
None, thanks.
Character Description
Taller than the average Phobian (6'8”) and with a robust build (220 pounds), Scyllis bears large dark eyes surrounded by a long brown mane that falls about his broad shoulders, usually tieded up on a ponytail for comodity. One of his main physical traits is the jagged scar that runs down the left side of his face, crosses his mouth and disappears under his chin.
Although he is still a middle-aged man, his slow, heavy movements and tired eyes make him appear older than he is.
He always wears a ramshackle old metal armor and wields a huge rusted morning star, which menacing appearance is often more than enough to intimidate his adversaries. No one recalls seeing him in any other outfit, and many wonder how he can wear that much weight all day (and presumably night) long.
Shard Plot Line (Strengths & Weaknesses)-
Strengths:

  • Although it may seem surprising when you see the state of his own armor, Scyllis is very adept at working metal. He's capable of making high quality armor or weapons

Weaknesses:
  • While Scyllis has a strong sense of justice, his long association with war and violence has caused his response to injustice to be, at times, harsher than injustice.
  • He has a short temper.
  • He likes alcohol too much.

Special Role-play Ability-
No one knows how or why (perhaps because his dingy old armor is covered in moss and creeper plants), but Scyllis has the uncanny ability to slip through unnoticed forests, as if he weren't there at all.
Not even a complain from the tired hinges of his heavy armor is heard in the silence... Some would brand this ability supernatural.
Previous World
Scyllis comes from a world know as Phobos.
Backstory
His hand runs across his short hair, feeling how a part of him was missing. Where a few days ago there was a long thick mane with as many knots as scars marked his body, now there was just void. The void of defeat.

On top of that hill, from a distance, he could almost feel the heat of the burning pyres licking his skin. He could distinguish the silhouettes from the rest standing silently near the flames, watching with their heads down how the bodies of his brothers-in-arms consumed slowly.

He should have done the same as the rest that survived: run away, galloping on their shame, the shame of a lost battle. They said that they didn't deserve to live among the rest and should part to the northern hills, far away from the Great Woods. But he couldn't leave. Not yet. Not while the remains of his older and only brother still burned. And they fought with pride and honor. Hell, they did! But this time, their axes, maces, and arrows weren't enough. This time, their enemy was better prepared and equipped.

Scyllis closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The wind was blowing north-west, pushing the smoke in his direction.

"So that's how death among us smells", he thought.

He leaned over his horse and whispered a word. The black mount turned, facing the white hills from the north. They were covered in snow and looked very distant.

Run away... That's not what he was made for. They were outnumbered, surprised by their enemies. They did all they could... He deserved another chance, for all the enemies he laid down on the fields, for all the blood he spilled. His and theirs. He could seek for forgiveness and gallop again with their fellows against, proudly and bravely against a wall of shields and lances.

But little did he know that two days later, when all of his battle mates lay dead on the battlefield and the point of a broken spear pierced his abdomen, a lesser god, known as the god of the Pointing Finger, would take notice of him, and would choose him for an adventure in a distant world unknown to him. To what end? That he had to discover...
