Komirri
#1
Discord Id - Lyrrin#8940

Previous Characters - Hephaestra, Cora, Velastra, etc

Character Name - Komirri

Character Race & Sub-Race - Aelfeyn (Native Aldaayiein)

Alternate Graphic - None

Character Description - You look at Komirri and see a hard woman. Her dark eyes look at you suspiciously. Her brown skin is baked by the sun, black hair beginning to gray. Her slightly pointed ears and delicate face point to Aelfeyn heritage, but she is scrawny and muscular instead of elegant. She has several scars visible on her arms and torso. Yet, the hardness melts away once you speak to her, and she looks like she is laughing at the world. She is often seen with a desert hawk perched on shoulder or arm, or circling overhead.

Shard Plot Line (Strengths & Weaknesses) - Komirri will be playing a leadership role in Andus, after RP.

Strengths - Loyal, kinder than she looks

Weaknesses - Quick to anger, too sarcastic for her own good

Special Role-play Ability - No special ability per se. She has a hawk daemon, which can be accomplished with an eagle pet and emoting.

Previous World - She is native to Sanctuary.

Backstory -
Komirri was born somewhere in the deserts of Andus, and lived with a group of her fellow Aldaayiein, always moving. That is, until the tribe was ambushed, and she and several other children were taken to Al Shadiya and sold. There she was simply "Ko", or "Girl". She was a kitchen wench, a night soil collector, a farmhand. She was a bath house attendant, a cleaner at the gladiator pits. She was no one but what they gave her permission to be.

When she came of age, she discovered her daemon Ruza. A beautiful hawk of the desert, golden eyes fierce. She had to keep Ruza out of sight, away from her, keeping her heritage a secret. But the hawk gave her hope and came in handy, watching from above, seeing who came and went. Finally she was able to use Ruza to pass a message to a visiting group of Aldaayiein, and when she slipped out of the pits with Ruza's help they hid her among their number.

Now, many years later:
"You ready?" Ruza asked. Komirri grinned back, and looked at the other assembled people. A few humans, some of her own people, and one really tall man who possibly had giant's blood in him. All wore bright costumes, some carried instruments. Komirri wore a ridiculous flowing dress, the color of lime, and a headdress with fruit and flowers sticking out of it. "Let's go!" She held her arm up, and Ruza took off into the sky to keep watch.

She motioned to the others, and they began dancing, skipping, singing their way down the street. She flounced comically in her dress, making sure to be seen, tossing a flower from her hat at a child on the street. The procession stopped at the intersection of an alley, singing louder and crowding each other, milling about so no one noticed Komirri and three others slip around the corner into the alley, ducking low. They quickly dug through what looked like a pile of discarded crates, to reveal four people huddled underneath.

Komirri stripped the dress and headdress off, revealing nondescript clothes underneath. "Put this on," she instructed one of the huddled women, and shoved the costume at her. The woman obeyed silently, face ashen. "Now, you will have to smile, just until they get to the next street. Can you do that?" The woman just stared at her. Komirri grabbed her hands, squeezing them. "Can you?" The woman finally nodded, fruit headdress bobbing.

Komirri led her back to the group of dancers, still milling about blocking the view to the alley, and shoved the woman forward into them. "Smile!" she hissed, and ducked back down into the alley. The dancers took the woman's hand and led her and the other three runaways, now brightly costumed, in a merry dance down the street, out of sight. Komirri and her conspirators remained shadowed in the alley for some time before scattering. Komirri hummed the dancers' tune to herself, a little skip in her step as she wandered away. Ruza circled overhead still, keeping an eye on things.

Sometimes it was best to hide in plain sight.

I really like that you played up the persecution that has been going on and that you actually save people. Really Good.
