Discord Id

Ovadya|Ethan

Previous Characters
Ovadya al-Shaanan, Ethan Alkalai, and Bruit Obadiah
Character Name
Cynric Degenhard
Character Race & Sub-Race
Demi-Human
Character Description
Cynric is a picture of the unassuming. Soft features, boyish appearance, with brown-sable striaght hair that is short cut and well maintained. Perpetually sports a short thin beard that he either fails to grow or fails to shave, it's unsure which. Thin and short, barely stretching on his toes to 5'4" he can often be hard to spot in a crowd. He accentuates this otherwise unremarkable appearance with clothing that speaks of attentive sensibility. Clean, but studiously avoiding ostentatious. His eyes are the one thing that avoid the unremarkable, green with blue marbling, they pierce with clarity and comprehension. His age appears to be early 30s.
Shard Plot Line (Strengths & Weaknesses)
Strengths - Political acumen, expert administrative skills, learned in histories, mythologies, religion, philosophy, spycraft and diplomacy. His main strengths revolve around statecraft and management. He inspires loyalty, but only for those he counts as citizens and friends. Martially, he is shrewd logician and strategist, he is only mediocre physically leading the charge.
Weaknesses - His willingness to engage in statecraft makes him vulnerable to counter scheming, and the potential for plots to backfire is high. Loyalty is a coin he purchases from below or beside his station and rarely fawns over those above him leaving him often on his own and isolated. Physically, while strong and valorous as becoming a hero, his size makes him less likely to contend with other heroes. While he will lead troops in combat and has skills of a hero, his tactical plans can be burdensome.
Special Role-play Ability
A Tight Knit Household -  During roleplay, Cynric has at his call a household of retainers he has personally trained at their various tasks. They are omnipresent though frequently just out of sight. These include a marshal (a steward of militas), a chamberlain, a spymaster, a quartermaster, a scribe, a master horse, and philosopher/doctor. These individuals are experts  in their fields in their own right, and exceptionally difficult to bribe, extort, and personally trust Cynric to a high degree.Restrictions: They will not appear as extras for purposes of PvP combat or RP. Any information obtained by such, such as the spymaster, will be voluntary on the part of other player. It is essentially an ability to RP the presence of a household with competent members.
Previous World
Very earth like in tone and history, especially hailing from a land similar to Venetia in culture and politics. It was in flavor a more Baltic region scene, most notably, a Republic style in the vein of the Novgorod Republic. Slavery was a thing but economically influenced, and statecraft was considered an art form similar to skilled warfare. Magic was unknown or atleast dormant in his region, so Cynric is still adjusting to its influence and presence. It was however a place with many races, though only Muiri like races were immediately adjacent to Cynric's homeland.

Backstory

Cynric arrived early in the latest batch but because of his short stature and unassuming looks, he had to prove himself from the start and work his way up. His mind gave him his first spot in Raedoria but even his martial prowess gave him the credibility of a leader.

To those who know him, and by now all of Raedoria knows him, he is the administrator, the diplomat, the officer, the advisor, the seneschal. You go to him with a problem and you find he has solved it and three others you didn't know you had. Weirdly, and in manner only the diligently insightful will notice, his solutions typically leave the subject more reliant on him than when they started. And that's how he rose, the hero from a foreign land now the executive of an estate. First the chronicler, than the advisor, then the majordomo, all the way to succeeding the last native ruler as the chief of Raedoria. His ascendancy is celebrated universally, his detractors, if they exist, are absent now...

Cynic appreciates a world of stability. He knows stability only comes from a balance of power. Where he comes from that took the balancing of many persons against many other persons, the personalities of those powers taking careful management. He is not power hungry, he is influence hungry to make sure the brutality of the past is replaced by the "necessities" of the present. Now, having recently come into his own as the executive of Raedoria, it's his time to shine as the balancer of ambitions, the great wall between the nations. If they don't balance themselves, he will lay them low to make it non-optional. .

One note: the only plain ordinary humans in this world are the NPCs. Cynric would be a demi-human
