Shard Plotline Question:
Kayn and Va'Shrun have two different goals
Kayn has two quests, one is to find out how/why he came here and the second is by using a kingdom/noble house rising to power, he can pursue his quest of dominance over the daemon prince. Kayn fully understands that the daemon is evil, but the power he was given is intoxicating, and wishes control over it. Kayn wishes to be able to temper the blade of sorrow that Va'Shrun wields and have the ability to inflict the plague onto his and his house/kingdom's enemies. As the daemon entered Kayn he became filled with bouts of blood lust, due to this he has a strong sense of embarrassment for having a daemon inside of him talking to him and instructing him to complete vile or otherwise inhumane acts. He often shy's from it, as the thoughts he is given are intensely violent and destructive. He wishes controls over those thoughts and the powers the daemon has granted him.
Va'Shrun has no interest in a kingdom or house gaining influence, his interest is in complete dominance of Kayn, control over the vessel and increasing his power to plague the lands - he plans to do this through a chosen God, rising them to power and gaining favor. He is not doing this intentionally maliciously for the purpose of just pure hatred, but in his mind the perfect world is one of plagues and sorrow. Some might find walking through a meadow to be enjoyable, others might have intense allergies and hate it. For him walking anywhere but marsh plagued death lands is like an allergic reaction. By increasing his power he can spin a world for himself to thrive in.
What both of them don't know is that the longer they are together, their beings or souls become intertwined. They maintain consciousness but begin to function as one. So their goals eventually will meld into some twisted version of the two. It would be impossible to separate them, or gain complete control without catastrophe occurring for either of them - most likely death of them both. The possession sustains Va'Shruns life and the wound he sustained Kayn seeped into, resulting in a sort of conjoined twin. Kayn's powers twist himself and what he sees and battles it with humanities indominable will, talking to the daemon though violent has opened his eyes to ways to handle problems. They are symbiotic in nature and help each other with their quests as they give two vastly different views. A daemon is not human and a human is not a daemon after all. What their final twisted goal will be I can't say yet as it will come to fruition with roleplay and as the story progresses.
