Useful Methods and Tricks for CED
#1
Fixing Multi Part Trees

So the filtering option in this version of CED is awful.  But we have broken multi part trees to fix, this is the fastest way to do this.

Make sure you have your selection tool on, the white arrow on the left of the tool bar.

Click and hold on one part of a complete tree until the tool tips pops up and add to the filter

Now one of a things will happen, a) nothing which means the filtering is not turned on, this is fine.  b) the item disappears which means the filter is on and set to exclude, this is fine. c) everything BUT the item disappears which means the filter is set to include, this is also fine.

But now I want you to go to the filter which is right of the EYE and turn it on (depressed) and set to exclude.

Now you can go back to the selection arrow and add all of the tree parts until all parts disappear from the whole area.

Once you have them all in the list, go back to the filtering and turn it to include.

Now you can zoom around looking for broken trees and just delete them.

Useful Points
  • I strongly suggest you just use this tool for yew trees, pine trees and swamp trees, because you are going to find all of them broken around at least half of the city/castle cut ins.
  • Most broken trees should be in a straight line, along a rectangle where the prior map/cities were cut in.  However, there are some broken multi part trees left over from Grimm in the centers of both Briar Hollow (Tara) and Hamelin (Drokk).
