When i dbl click a pile of ore, and click a forge its just says canceled, what am i missing?

Do you have the mining skill or are you trying to smelt ores collected from the elementals? Also, if they are elemental ores, keep in mind that some ores require a specific level to smelt though I think it still lets you try and just tells you that you lose the ore.
