Place holder

Currently includes the following character's who have follow Cynric to Port Leon.

Characters

For Cynric's special ability, I choose something I called "A Tight Knit Household."

"During roleplay, Cynric has at his call a household of retainers he has personally trained or sanctioned at their various tasks. They are omnipresent though frequently just out of sight. These include a marshal (a steward of militas), a chamberlain, a spymaster, a quartermaster, a scribe, a master of horse, and philosopher/doctor. These individuals are experts in their fields in their own right, and exceptionally difficult to bribe, extort, and personally trust Cynric to a high degree. Restrictions: They will not appear as extras for purposes of PvP combat or RP. Any information obtained by such, such as the spymaster, will be voluntary on the part of other players. It is essentially an ability to RP the presence of a household with competent members. "

Although a small amendment might exist: Don't fuck with Cynric in Raedoria or these people may come into play for conflict RP.

Administrative: Seneschal Rodrick - Emlyn

Rodrick is a tall, muscular individual, usually sports a tabbard and leather armor despite no call for it. Bald and with a thin mustasche, he's advancing in years, though still strong by regular human standards. In terms of demeanor he is sociable but normally only with household officers and estate underlings. He is extremely loyal to Cynric, both for training him in the main forms of estate management but also for placing him in such offices of trust. His heritage is Emlynese but he rarely makes note of this.

While he holds the title of seneschal, he's really more of a combination seneschal, master of horse, and keeper of the seal. Cynric was the previous seneschal and in his rise to power horded authorities and titles under himself. Upon his elevation at the death of the last Lord of Raedoria, Cynric appointed Rodrick to this overly aggrandized office and now faces a dilemma. While Rodrick is extremely loyal, the position itself is threatening to scope to whoever sits at Raedoria's head: To reduce the scope of the office would threaten Rodrick's loyalty, but if Rodrick ever became disloyal the officer could wreck havoc. So like much of Sanctuary, Raedoria's seneschal is a balancing act between trust and friendship and the threat of ambition.

Economic: Chamberlain Olaf -Kraestret

A rotund man who can normally be spotted wearing a red vest and ornaments of office (rings especially), Olaf is nearing the end of his career as Chamberlain due to advancing age. Originally from Drokkburg, he was hired to be the estates Chamberlain by Cynric's predecessor and showed congenial aptitude. Upon recognizing Cynric's talent, Olaf was one of the first to be taken into his confidence along with Rodrick. Together they conspired to place the old inactive, sedentary lord with the pragmatic and likable Cynric.

Olaf's office is closest to it's namesake: He disperses the treasury, collects taxes, organizes the guilds, controls council meetings, and registers and promulgates decrees by the lord of the estate. Olaf is loyal but fading from his normal duties. Rather than an initiative taker, he's become a watcher, waiting out his time as Chamberlain until either death or a competent successor allows him to retire.

Military: Marshal William - Emlyn

Young and handsome, William is the third in command of Raedoria's militia. Currently he spends nearly all of his time on two activities: Drilling the levies into fighting readiness and establishing a permanent home guard that would double as agents for Cynric's needs. William is one of the least sociable of Raedoria's retainers, he commands with authority not persuasion. However he is still well regarded by his troops who find his demeanor stern but fair. So far his actual command experience is limited to drilling and the occasional skirmish with bandits and monsters.

William is blonde, fair eyed, moderate height, and strongest of all of Cynric's retainers. His field prowess lies in inspiring his troops to courage and a sound eye for judging when his men are ready to charge and when they are about to flee. He is loyal but for reasons that do not immediately make sense, considering his clear path to power should Cynric and Rodrick meet an unfortunate fate. However, the rumors of how Cynric spends some nights might reveal more to curious spies.

Religious: Chaplain Holly - Raeyithia

Religion in Raedoria is a state affair in the sense that civic religious functions take place and are subsidized by the estate coffers. However the estate remains firmly uncommitted to a single religious figure, endorsing a broad polytheistic hodge-podge of a pantheon. Holly, the sole organizer of such events and disbursements, functions as the voice of charity in the estate. Alms are given to her and she uses them to care for the sick and lame.

Holly is Muiri and one of the few in Raedoria. A Dryad of more human-ish form, she is associated with the large dead tree on the grounds. Rumors abound as to why she still exists in fine health despite the clear death of her associated tree. She has golden hair weaved with vine, a human face and torso, but her limbs all end in hands and feet that are rougher and more bark like. This leads to a widely feared set of claws on her that are often flashed should someone try to succumb to harshness toward the less well off. She spends most of her time outside the castle proper, preferring the absence of the many iron gates, swords, and doors. When she does visit, it's by way of the main entrance then only so far as the castle's main doors. As a consequence most civic religious functions take place outdoors.

Holly doubles as a capable doctor and trains a few apprentices in matters of medicine, though this work is often just short of running a charitable hospital and the apprentices little more than nurses. Her loyalty is not so much staked on Cynric as to the place of Raedoria.

Magical: Mistress of Rituals Coth - Raeyithia

Coth is the Mistress of Rituals, another of Raedoria's cobbled offices that attempts to walk the line between the customs of its many neighbors. She oversees the taking of the auspices, divinations, ritual purity ceremonies, high and ritual magic, and the training of a small cadre of priests and scholars. She is fascinated by philosophy and history and often spends hours with Cynric discussing obscure intellectual texts.

She doubles her duty in the training of Raedoria's core of spies. This has fallen to her more out of a strange talent rather than any sort of affinity for the task. Her mind's ability to deal with nuances and ambiguity lend her perfectly to this role, though she refuses to relinquish her first love of learning and magic. As a consequence, Raedoria's spies often have a dual talent for understanding the history and culture of the subject estates, as well as an affinity for alchemical or magical tool sets.

Coth herself is Aelfeyn, also one of the few in Raedoria despite it's supposed allegience to Raeyithia. She is tall, fair headed, and possessed of her own beauty. She worships in private, outside the influence of Holly, and much is suspected of this and it's relation to her loyalty to Cynric. Cynric's continued refusal to consider marriage or partnership means there is a lack of a lady to accompany Holly's need for a Lord and Lady. Her loyalty for now remains beyond reproach but it is suspected that if a weak link exists in Raedoria's loyalty armor, she might be
