Application: Vladislaus Drachenrath - Industrious - 10-29-2020 Discord ID: Industrious#5983 Previous Character(s): Szar'thas Character Name: Vladislaus Drachenrath Character Race: Human, Vampire (Elder) (Traveler) Alternate Graphic: None Character Description: He is a notably tall man with a stature of 6’ 6”, and appears to have a powerful build of a warrior. An intimidating man with a skin as pale as death, and a long, straight and black hair that reaches just below his shoulder blades. His eyes are deep-set and glow faintly in the dark with baleful blue light. There is something imposingly regal about his posture and composure. His facial features are strikingly aquiline, masculine and strong. It is very difficult to pinpoint his age. Something about his eyes and weathered, timeworn features seem positively ancient, but the rest of his face and physique would indicate that he’s somewhere just barely past his middle age. He could be considered handsome if not for the malevolent and predatory air about him. And then again there are his eyes. There is something about his gaze that most people find predatory, unnatural and just profoundly unsettling!... It is a cold, sinister and baleful look! Many creatures might (just might!) have difficulty retaining their composure under his withering gaze. His general disposition seems to be deathly serious. (The use and results would, of course, depend on other players’ consent and willingness to play along. Otherwise this ability could be used on NPCs, or for storytelling purposes.) Previous World: Tenebra; a working name for a medieval horror-fantasy world, intended for a homebrew D&D campaign that never came to fruition. The character was originally intended as the primary antagonist for that campaign. Backstory: A dark figure sat, nay, collapsed on a throne of dark stone, injured beyond recovery. A trail of black blood trailing all the way from the heavy double-doors of his throne hall to his ceremonial seat of power. What had once been masterfully crafted armor was now in tatters; the flesh beneath cut into ribbons. Though seemingly lifeless, he yet still lived - as much as his undeathly state could be called "living". Every shallow breath was a labored wheeze followed by a gory death rattle. He thought back on his rule and defeat. Once an undisputed sovereign of this corner of the world, now beaten by a roving band of self-proclaimed "heroes". His dominion in ruins, armies defeated, lieutenants slain, castle besieged, and the cattle all in an open revolt! What had once been a haven for his kindred and all other creatures of the night was no more. It had all been torn down and dismantled. Destroyed. Although, as much as he cursed the damned do-gooders, he was not so conceited not to admit that his own hubris was also to blame. In retrospect, he might've been able to prevent this. Should have been! He coughed, the bloodied lips of the elder vampire curling up into embittered snarl. It would not be long now; the "heroes" would come to finish the job soon enough. He knew he was not going to survive this. A fact he scorned with all of his being. It was nothing but hatred and spite that still kept him going. Oh, how he thirsted to at least spit into the eyes of his vanquishers one last time! ... Suddenly, the castle shook, followed by an impossibly loud roar! A sound so loud that it fractured stone, ruptured his eardrums, and shook him to his bones. 'What in the Void was that? Did the meddlers manage to recruit an actual damned dragon? An insult to the injury!' Vladislaus Drachenrath never got to finish his resentful musings, as all his senses were suddenly flooded with agony! His vision went red, then white, then dark, and he felt like his very soul was being shredded into a thousand tiny pieces! The last thing he registered was a silhouette of a great winged dragon burning like a brand at the forefront of his mind's eye... ...Before waking up in a strange new world.
