Heresvaín has stood under the ruling and tutelage of the Smeltmail family for generations, and has stood as guardian and defender of the northern mountain passes leading into the realm of Miðrvegr for just as long. Known for its particularly rugged people hewn from "stone and ice" of an estate that spends the vast majority of its year entrenched in snows and blizzards, Heresvaín is especially welcoming to Hoggur and those that call the northern passes home.
CURRENT EVENTS
The last year's snowfall has stuck around for an unusually long time, with Heresvaín experiencing virtually no summer. A great number of the Heresvaín forces were trapped in the northern passes, caught by an unseasonably early blizzard that took even the most experienced by surprise. This led to famine and sickness which has seen the current Jarl gravely ill and his eldest son Varan taking the stead. The estate and all its people are in the process of digging out snow trenches and pushing back the scavengers of the northern wilds with recent help from Queen Brea andMiðrvegr forces. That said those that call Heresvaín home have suffered a fair brutal hand this past year and the struggles are not like to ease any time soon.
